The Chargers (Al-Munafiqûn)

In the name of Allah, Gracious, Merciful.

¹When the hypocrites come to you they say “We bear witness that you are indeed the apostle of Allah.” Yea, Allah knows that you are indeed His apostle and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are indeed liars.

²They have made their oaths a screen: thus they obstruct from the path of Allah: truly, evil are their deeds.

³That is because they believed, then they rejected faith: so a seal was set on their hearts: therefore they understand not.

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim

¹Iza jaakal munafiquna qalu nashadu innaka larasulul lah wallahu yalamu innaka larasuluh wallahu yas hadu innal munafiqina takazibun

²Ittakazu aimanahum jun natan fasad du an sabilillah innahum saa ma kanu yamalun

³Zalika bi annahum amanu summa kafaru fatubia ala qulubihim fahum la yafqahun

⁴When you look at them, their exteriors please you; and when they speak, you listened to their words. They are as pieces of timber propped up. They think that every cry is against them. They are the enemies; so beware of them. The curse of Allah be on them! How are they deluded.

⁵And when it is said to them “Come, the apostle of Allah will pray for your forgiveness” they turn aside their heads and you would see them turning away their faces in arrogance.

⁶It is equal to them whether you pray for their forgiveness or not. Allah will not forgive them. Truly, Allah guides not rebellious transgressors.

⁴Wa iza raaitahum tujibuka ajsamuhum wa iyyaqulu tasma liqaulihimka annahum husubum musan nadatun yabsabuna kulla saihatin alaihim humul aduw wu fahzarhum qatalahumul lahu anna yufakun

⁵Wa iza qila lahum taalau yastagfir lakum rasulullahi lawwau ru usahum wa ra aitahum yashud duna wahum mustakbirun

⁶Sawaun alaihim astagfarta lahum am lam tastagfi lahum layagfirallahu lahum innallaha la yahdil qaumal lasiqin

⁷They are the ones who say “Spend nothing on those who are with Allah’s apostle, to the end that they may disperse. But to Allah belong the treasures of the heavens and the earth; but the hypocrites understand not.

⁸They say “If we return to Madinah, surely the more honorable will expel there from the meaner.” But honor belongs to Allah and His apostle and to the believers; but the hypocrites know not.

⁹O you who believe! let not your riches or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. If any act thus, the loss is their own.

⁷Humullazina yaquluna la tunfiqu ala man inda rasulillahi hata yanfadu du wa lillahi hazainus samawati wal ardi wa lakinal munafiqina la yafqahun

⁸Yaquluna la irajanal ilal madinati layukhrijan nal aaz zu minhal azal wal lillahil izatu wa lirasulihi wa lilmuminina wa lakin nal munafiqina la yalamun

⁹Ya ayyuhal lazina amanu la tulhikum amwalukum wa la auladukum an zikrillahi wa ma yafal zalika faulaika humul hasirun

¹⁰And spend something out of the substance which We have bestowed on you before death should come to any of you, and he should say “O my Lord! why did you not give me respite for a little while? I should then have given in charity and I should have been one of the doers of good.”

¹¹But to no soul will Allah grant respite when the time appointed has come: and Allah is well acquainted with all that you do.

¹⁰Wa anfiqu mim ma razaqnakum min qabli ayyatiya ahadakumul mautu layaqula rabbi lau la akh karta mi ila ajalin qaribin fa as sad daqa qa akum minas salihin

¹¹Wa layyu akhiral lahu nafsan iza ja a ajaluha wallahu habi un bima tamalun
