Battle Array (As-Saff)

In the name of Allah, Gracious, Merciful.

¹Whatever is in the heavens and on earth, let it declare the praises and glory of Allah: for He is the exalted in might, the wise.

²O you who believe! why do you say that which you do not?

³Grievously odious is it in the sight of Allah that you say that which you do not.

⁴Truly, Allah loves those who fight in His cause in battle array as if they were a solid cemented structure.

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim

¹Sab baha lillahi ma fis samawati wa ma fil ardi wa huwal azizul hakim.

²Ya ayyuhal lazina amanu lima taquluna ma la tafalun.

³Kabura maqtan indallahi an taqulu ma la tafalun.

⁴Innallaha yuhibbul lazina yuqatiluna fi sabilihi safan ka annahum bun yanum marsus.

⁵And remember Moses said to his people: “O my people! why do you vex and insult me though you know that I am the apostle of Allah to you?” Then when they went wrong, Allah let their hearts go wrong: for Allah guides not those who are rebellious transgressors.

⁶And remember Jesus the son of Mary said: “O Children of Israel! I am the apostle of Allah to you confirming the Law before me and giving glad tidings of an apostle to come after me whose name shall be Ahmad.” But when he came to them with clear signs they said “This is evident sorcery!”¹

⁷And who does greater wrong than one who invents falsehood against Allah even as he is being invited to Islam? And Allah guides not those who do wrong.²

⁸Their intention is to extinguish Allah’s light with their mouths: but Allah will complete His light even though the unbelievers may detest.

⁵Wa iz qala Musa liqaumihi ya qaumi lima tuzunani wa qad talamuna anni rasulullahi ilaikum falam ma zaghu azagallahu qulubahum wal lahu la yahdil qaumal fasiqin.

⁶Wa iz qala Isabnu Maryama ya bani Israila ini rasulullahi ilaikum mushad diqal lima baina yaday ya minat taurati wa mubas siran birasuli yail min badis muhu ahmad falam ma jaahum bil bayyinati qalu haza sihrum mubin.

⁷Wa man azhlamu minmanif tara alallahil kaziba wa huwa yuda ilal islam wal lahu la yahdil qaumaz zalimin.

⁸Yuriduna liyuthfi unurallahi bi afwahihim wallahu mutim mu nurihi wa lau karihal kafirun.

1. A lot has been said about who it was that came after Christ, Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will come after him in John 16:7, we read:

However, I am telling you the truth. It is for your advantage that I am going away, for if I do not go away the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. 

Muhammad claims that the Comforter who is the Holy Spirit is synonymous with the Angel Gabriel Qur’an 2:97, 16:102. Orthodox Muslims claim that the Comforter is Muhammad.

Farid believes that Ghulam Ahmed is the one being referred to in the verse. The Nation of Islam also teaches Master Farad (Fard) Muhammad is the long awaited promised messiah making him the one who fulfils this verse here. Now, all these are Muslim groups and yet they are so divided as to the identity of the One Jesus spoke about, how can we then accept their explanation when they are not so sure as to who this passage refers to?

One of the purposes of the coming of the Holy Spirit was to Comfort the grieving Apostles and disciples. When all the people the Muslims claim this verse came, the immediate Apostles who walked with Jesus had all died, which would have made Jesus a liar.

But God Almighty forbid that the Holy Son of God would ever lie. In the final analysis, the Bible is correct and the Qur’an and all its relevant commentaries are wrong. The Holy Spirit is not the Angel Gabriel, nor Muhammad, nor Ghulam Ahmed, nor Farad Muhammad. The Holy Spirit is the Holy Spirit.

2. The promoters of falsehood as explained above are the ones who do more wrong to Allah and their own souls.

⁹It is He who has sent His apostle with guidance and the religion of truth, that he may proclaim it over all religions even though the pagans may detest.

¹⁰O you who believe! shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a grievous penalty?

¹¹That you believe in Allah and His apostle and that you strive in the cause of Allah with your property and your persons: that will be best for you if you but knew!

¹²He will forgive you your sins and admit you to gardens beneath which rivers flow and to beautiful mansions in gardens of eternity: that is indeed the supreme achievement.

⁹Huwal lazi arsala rasulahu bil huda wa dinil haqqi liyuzhirahu alad dini kullihi wa lau karihal musyrikun.

¹⁰Ya ayyuha lazina amanu hal adul lukum ala tijaratin tunjikum min azabin alim.

¹¹Tuminuna billahi wa rasulihi wa tujahiduna fi sabilil lahi bi amwalikum wa anfusikum zalikum khairul lakum inkuntum talamun.

¹²Yagfir lakum zunubakum wa yudkilkum jannatin tajri min tahtihal anharu wa masakina tayibatan fi jan nati an zalikal fauzul azim.

¹³And another favor will He bestow which you do love help from Allah and a speedy victory: so give the glad tidings to the believers.

¹⁴O you who believe! be you helpers of Allah: as said Jesus the son of Mary to the disciples “Who will be my helpers to Allah?” Said the disciples “We are Allah’s helpers!” Then a portion of the children of Israel believed and a portion disbelieved: but We gave power to those who believed against their enemies and they became the ones that prevailed.³

¹³Wa ukhra tuhib bunaha nasrum minal lahi wa fat hun qarib wa basiril muminin.

¹⁴Ya ayyuha lazina amanu kunu ansharal lahi kama qala isabnu maryama lilhawariyina man ansari ilal lah qalal hawariy yuna nahnu ansharullahi fa amanat taifa fummin bani Israila wa kafarat taifah fa ayyadnal lazina amanu ala aduw wihim fa ashbahu zahirin

3. The choice of the disciples of Jesus was not left to the individuals. Jesus hand picked them one by one. In Matthew 10:1-5, we read:

Then Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority over unclean spirits, so that they could drive them out and heal every disease and every illness. These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Cananaean and Judas Iscariot, who later betrayed Jesus. These were the twelve whom Jesus sent out...

So to say that Jesus asked them and they volunteered to be his followers is pure lie. It did not happen that way.
