The Ant (An-Naml)

In the name of Allah, Gracious, Merciful.

¹Ta Sin. These are verses of the Qur’an a book that makes clear;

²A guide; and glad tidings for the believers.

³Those who establish regular prayers and give in regular charity and also have assurance of the hereafter.

⁴As to those who believe not in the hereafter We have made their deeds pleasing in their eyes; and so they wander about in distraction.

⁵Such are they for whom a grievous penalty is waiting: and in the hereafter, theirs will be the greatest loss.

⁶And as for you, the Qur’an is bestowed upon you from the presence of one who is wise and all-knowing.

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim

¹Ta sin tilka ayatul qur ani wa kitabim mubin

²Hudaw wa busra lilmuminin

³Al lazina yuqimunas salata wa yutunaz zakata wa hum bil ahirati hum yuqinun

⁴Innal lazina la yuminuna bil ahirati zayyan na lahum amalahum fahum yamahun

⁵Ulaikal lazina lahum suul azabi wa hum fil ahirati humul ahsarun

⁶Wa innaka latulaq qal qurana millasun hakimin alim

⁷Behold! Moses said to his family: “I perceive a fire; soon will I bring you from there some information or I will bring you a burning brand to light our fuel that you may warm yourselves.”

⁸But when he came to it a voice was heard: “Blessed are those in the fire and those around: and glory to Allah, the Lord of the worlds!

⁹“O Moses! verily, I am Allah, the exalted in might, the wise!

¹⁰“And now do you throw your rod!” But when he saw it moving as if it had been a snake he turned back in retreat and retraced not his steps: “O Moses” “fear not: truly in My presence those called as apostles have no fear.

¹¹“But if any have done wrong and have thereafter substituted good to take the place of evil, truly I am often forgiving, most merciful.

⁷Iz qala Musa li ahlihi inni anastu nara sa atikum minha bihabarin au atikum bishabin qabasil laal lakum tastalun

⁸Falam ma ja aha nudiya amburika man fin nari wa man haulaha was subhanal lahi Rabbil alamin

⁹Ya Musa innahu anallahul azizul hakim

¹⁰Wa alqi ashak falam ma ra aha tahtaz zu ka an naha jan nuw wal la mudbiraw wa lam yuaq qib ya Musa la takhaf in ni la yakhafu laday yal mursalun

¹¹Illa man zalama summa baddala husnan bada su in fa inni gafurur rahim

¹²“And now put your hand into your bosom and it will come forth white without stain: these are among the nine signs to Pharaoh and his people: for they are a people rebellious in transgression.

¹³But when our signs came to them that should have opened their eyes, they said: “This is sorcery manifest!”

¹⁴And they rejected those signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced thereof: so see what was the end of those who acted corruptly!

¹⁵And We gave knowledge to David and Solomon: and they both said: “Praise be to Allah who has favored us above many of His servants who believe!”

¹²Wa adkil yadaka fi jaibika tahruj baida a min gairi su in fi tisi ayatin ila Firauna wa qaumih innahum kanu qauman fasiqin

¹³Falam ma jaat hum ayatuna mubsiratan qalu haza sihrum mubin

¹⁴Wa jahadu biha wastaiqanat ha anfusuhum zulmaw wa uluwwa fanzur kaifa kana aqibatul mufsidin

¹⁵Wa laqad ataina Dawuda wa Sulaimana ilma wa qalal hamdu lil lahil lazi fad dalana ala katsirim min ibadihil muminin

¹⁶And Solomon was David’s heir. He said: “O people! we have been taught the speech of birds and on us has been bestowed of all things: this is indeed grace manifest.”

¹⁷And before Solomon were marshaled his hosts of jinns, and men, and birds, and they were all kept in order and ranks.¹

¹⁸At length when they came to a valley of ants, one of the ants said: “O ants get into your habitations lest Solomon and his hosts crush you without knowing it.”

¹⁶Wa warisa Sulaimanu Dawuda wa qala ya ay yuhan nasu ul limna mantiqat tairi wa utina min kuli sai inna haza lahuwal fadlul mubin

¹⁷Wa husira lisulaimana junuduhu minal jinni wal insi wattairi fahum yuzaun

¹⁸Hatta iza atau ala wadin namli qalat namlatuy ya ayyuhan namlud hulu masakinakum la yahtimanakum Sulaimanu wa junuduhu wa hum la yasurun

1. The subject of the Jinns will be discussed in detail in Surah 72, but for now we need to look at what relationship if any, that King Solomon had with the Jinns. George Sale commenting on this issue quotes from two foremost jurists, Al Beidawi and Jallalo’ddin on Arabic history in this connection:

‘The Arab historians tell us that Solomon, having finished the Temple of Jerusalem, went on pilgrimage to Mecca, where, having stayed as long as he pleased, he proceeded towards Yaman; and leaving Mecca in the morning, he arrived by noon at Sama, and being extremely delighted with the country, rested there; but wanting water to make the ablution, he looked among the birds for the lapwing, called by the Arabs Al Hudbud, whose business it was to find it;

it is pretended she was sagacious or sharp-sighted enough to discover water underground, which the devils used to draw, ... It may be proper to mention here what the eastern writers fable of the manner of Solomon’s travelling. They say that he had a carpet of green silk, on which his throne was placed, being of a prodigious length and breadth, and sufficient for all his forces to stand on, the men placing themselves on his right hand, and the spirits on his left; and that when all were in order, the wind, at his command, took up the carpet, and transported it, with all that were upon it, wherever he pleased (Chap. XXI.); the army of birds at the same time flying over their heads, and forming a kind of canopy, to shade them from the sun ...

The story of Solomon going on pilgrimage to Mecca is as true as saying that Abraham was a Muslim, when Islam was started over two millenniums after the death of Abraham. The “Magic Carpet” is an Arabian Tale, with no fact whatsoever to support.

The Jinns who traveled with Solomon is equally a fabrication and blasphemous. It is a blasphemy because, Solomon was not only a King, he was also a prophet according to Islamic teachings. Jinns are fallen angels (evil spirits). The following Hadith supports that -- Sahih Muslim’s Hadith 6757 narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas’ud:

Allah’s Apostle (peace be upon him) said: There is none amongst you with whom is not an attache from amongst the jinn (devil). They (the Companions) said: Allah’s Apostle (peace be upon him) with you too? Thereupon he said: Yes, but Allah helps me against him and so I am safe from his hand and he does not command me but for good.

Jinns are evil spirits as such agents of Satan. True Prophets are servants of the Most High God and have no business with the devil. If therefore a revelation should come at any time that a servant of God was under the escort of evil spirits. Both that prophet AND his god are to be rejected outright.

¹⁹So he smiled amused at her speech; and he said: “O my Lord! so order me that I may be grateful for Your favors which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may work the righteousness that will please You: and admit me by Your grace to the ranks of Your righteous servants.”

²⁰And he took a muster of the birds; and he said: “Why is it I see not the hoopoe? Or is he among the absentees?

²¹“I will certainly punish him with a severe penalty or execute him unless he bring me a clear reason.”

²²But the hoopoe tarried not far: he compassed territory which you have not compassed and I have come to you from Saba with tidings true.

²³“I found a woman ruling over them and provided with every requisite; and she has a magnificent throne.²

¹⁹Fatabas sama dahikam min qauliha wa qala rabbi auzini an askura nimatakal lati anamta alayya wa ala walidayya wa an amala salihan tardahu wa adhilni birahmatika fi ibadikas salihin

²⁰Wa tafaq qadat taira faqala ma liya la aral hud hud am kana minal gaibin

²¹La uazziban nahu azaban sadi dan au la azbahan nahu au layatiyan ni bisultanim mubin

²²Famakatsa gaira baidin faqala ahatu bima lam tuhit bihi wa jituka min saba in binabaiy yaqin

²³Inni wajadtum ra atan tamlikuhum wa utiyat minkul li sai iwwa laha arsun azim

2. The Queen described here resembles the Queen of Sheba in description. If this is the same person, then the Qur’an account has exaggerated the facts. According to the Bible, Solomon’s fame spread far and wide and people came from everywhere to witness things firsthand. Among the visitors was the Queen of Sheba. According to 1 Kings 10, verses 1-7:

Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to test him with hard questions. She came to Jerusalem with a very great retinue, with camels bearing spices and very much gold and precious stones. And when she came to Solomon, she told him all that was on her mind. And Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing hidden from the king that he could not explain to her. And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, the food of his table, the seating of his officials, and the attendance of his servants, their clothing, his cupbearers, and his burnt offerings that he offered at the house of the LORD, there was no more breath in

her. And she said to the king, “The report was true that I heard in my own land of your words and of your wisdom, but I did not believe the reports until I came and my own eyes had seen it. And behold, the half was not told me. Your wisdom and prosperity surpass the report that I heard.”

The story of the Qur’an says that Solomon’s contact with the Queen of Sheba came from the report of the bird. That is nothing but fairy tale.

²⁴“And I found her and her people worshiping the sun besides Allah: Satan has made their deeds seem pleasing in their eyes and has kept them away from the path so they receive no guidance.

²⁵That they should not worship Allah who brings to light what is hidden in the heavens and the earth and knows what you hide and what you reveal.

²⁶“Allah! there is no god but He! Lord of the throne supreme!”

²⁷He said: “Soon shall we see whether you have told the truth or lied!

²⁸“Go with this letter of mine and deliver it to them: then draw back from them and see what answer they return”.

²⁹She said: “Chiefs! here is delivered to me a letter worthy of respect.

²⁴Wa jadtuha wa qaumaha yasjuduna lis samsi min dunil lahi wa zay yana lahumus saitanu ama lahum fasad dahum anis sabili fahum la yahtadun

²⁵Alla yasjudu lillahil lazi yuhrijul kitaba fis samawati wal ardi wa yalamu ma tuhfuna wa ma tulisun

²⁶Allahu la ilaha illa huwa rabbul arsil azim

²⁷Qala sananzuru ashadaqta am kunta minal kazibin

²⁸Iz hab bikitabi haza fa alqih ilaihim summa tawal la anhum fanzur maza yarjiun

²⁹Qalat ya ayyuhal mala u inni ulqiya ilayya kitabun karim

³⁰“It is from Solomon and is as follows: “In the name of Allah, most gracious, most merciful.³

³¹“Be not arrogant against me but come to me in submission to the true religion.’ “

³²She said: “Chiefs! advise me in my affair: no affair have I decided except in your presence.”

³³They said: “We are endued with strength and given to vehement war: but the command is with you; so consider what you will command.”

³⁴She said: “Kings when they enter a country despoil it and make the noblest of its people its meanest: thus do they behave.

³⁵“And I am going to send him a present and see with what answer my ambassadors return.”

³⁰Innahu min Sulaimana wa innahu bismil lahir rahmanir rahim

³¹Al la talu alay ya watuni muslimin

³²Qalat ya ayyuhal mala u aftuni fi amri ma kuntu qatiatan amran hatta tashadun

³³Qalu nahnu ulu quw watiwwa ulu basin sadidiwwal amru ilaika fanzuri maza tamurin

³⁴Qalat innal muluka iza dakhalu qaryatan afsaduha wa jaalu aiz zata ahliha azil lah wa kazalika yafalun

³⁵Wa inni mursilatun ilaihim bi hadiy yatin fanadiratun bima yarjiul mursalun

3. Please refer to verse 30. A letter written by Solomon would not bear the salutation, “In the name of Allah...” Because Allah was foreign to Solomon who served the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and not the god of Ishmael. Allah became universally known after the conversion of Muhammad into Islam who went about relentlessly and mercilessly crusading his region and the entire world for Allah and for Islam.

³⁶How when they came to Solomon, he said: “Will you give me abundance in wealth? But that which Allah has given me is better than that which He has given you! No, it is you who rejoice in your gift!

³⁷“Go back to them and be sure we shall come to them with such hosts as they will never be able to meet: we shall expel them from there in disgrace and they will feel humbled.”

³⁸He said: “Chiefs! which of you can bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?”⁴

³⁹Said an ifrit of the jinns: “I will bring it to you before you rise from your council: indeed I have full strength for the purpose and may be trusted.”⁵

³⁶Falam ma ja a Sulaimana qala atumid dunani bimal fama ataniyal lahu hairum mimma atakum bal antum bihadiyyatikum tafrahun

³⁷Irji ilaihim falanatiyan nahum bijunudil la qibala lahum biha wa lanuhrijan nahum minha azil lataw wa hum sagirun

³⁸Qala ya ayyuhal mala u ayyukum yatini biarsiha qabla ayyatuni muslimin

³⁹Qala ifritum minal jinni ana atika bihi qabla an taquma mim maqamik wa inni alaihi laqawiy yun amin

4. The came of her own will to test the wisdom of Solomon for which she had heard so much. Please see note on verse 23 above.

5. An Ifrit of the Jinns most likely is a wicked and crafty demon with mastery over deception and trickiness.

⁴⁰Said one who had knowledge of the book: “I will bring it to you within the twinkling of an eye!” Then when he saw it placed firmly before him, he said: “This is by the grace of my Lord! to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! And if any is grateful, truly his gratitude is for his own soul; but if any is ungrateful, truly my Lord is free of all needs, supreme in honor!”⁶

⁴¹He said: “Transform her throne out of all recognition by her: let us see whether she is guided or is one of those who receive no guidance.”

⁴²So when she arrived, she was asked “Is this your throne?” She said “It was just like this; and knowledge was bestowed on us in advance of this and we have submitted to Allah.”

⁴⁰Qalal lazi indahu ilmumminal kitabi ana atika bihi qabla ayyartad da ilaika tarfuk falam ma ra ahu mustaqir ran indahu qala haza min fadli rabbi liyabluwani a askuru am akfur wa man sakara fa innama yaskuru linafsih wa man kafara fa inna rabbi ganiy yun karim

⁴¹Qala nakkiru laha arsaha nanzur atahtadi am takunu minal lazina la yahtadun

⁴²Falam ma ja at qila ahakaza arsuk qalat ka annahu huwwa utinal ilma min qabliha wa kunna muslimin

6. Please refer to verse40. Solomon had many weaknesses but greed was not one of them to take anybody’s throne (for that matter) by deception. When Solomon became King over Judah, one of his first acts that showed his dependence upon God was his prayer of consecration. This is what the Bible says about Solomon’s attitude. 1 Kings 3:3-13:

Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father, only he sacrificed and made offerings at the high places. And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for that was the great high place. Solomon used to offer a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.

At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said, "Ask what I shall give you." And Solomon said, "You have shown great and steadfast love to your servant David my father, because he walked before you in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart toward you. And you have kept for him this great and steadfast

love and have given him a son to sit on his throne this day. And now, O LORD my God, you have made your servant king in place of David my father, although I am but a little child. I do not know how to go out or come in. And your servant is in the midst of your people whom you have chosen, a great people, too many to be numbered or counted for multitude. Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?" It pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked this. And God said to him, "Because you have asked this, and have not asked for yourself long life or riches or the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern what is right, behold, I now do according to your word. Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you. I give you also what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that no other king shall compare with you, all your days."

A man of this caliber does not need evil spirits and demons to enrich him, since God Almighty is his provider. And sufficient is God for a Provider. He is also known as Jehovah Jireh-The Lord Our Provider.

⁴³And he diverted her from the worship of others besides Allah: for she was of a people that had no faith.

⁴⁴She was asked to enter that lofty palace: but when she saw it, she thought it was a lake of water and she tucked up her skirts uncovering her legs. He said. “This is but a palace paved smooth with slabs of glass.” She said: “O my Lord! I have indeed wronged my soul: I do submit with Solomon to the Lord of the worlds.”⁷

⁴⁵And We sent to the people of Thamud their brother Salih, saying “Serve Allah”: but behold they became two factions quarreling with each other.

⁴⁶He said: “O my people! why ask you to hasten on the evil in preference to the good? If only you ask Allah for forgiveness, you may hope to receive mercy.”

⁴³Wa sad daha ma kanat tabudu min dunil lah innaha kanat min qaumin kafirin

⁴⁴Qila lahad hulis sar falam ma raat hu hasibat hu luj jatawwa kasyafat an saqaiha qala innahu sarhum mumar radum min qawarir qalat rabbi inni zalamtu nafsi wa aslamtu maa Sulaimana lil lahi rabbil alamin

⁴⁵Wa laqad arsalna ila Samuda ahahum Salihan ani budul laha fa iza hum fariqani yahtasimun

⁴⁶Qala ya qaumi lima tastajiluna bis sayyi ati qablal hasanati lau la tastagfirunal laha laal lakum turhamun

7. Please refer to verse 44. Allah and Muhammad has the uncanny ability to make any figure and name in the Old Testament times a Muslim. This is just one of such demonstration.

⁴⁷They said: “Ill omen do we augur from you and those that are with you.” He said: “Your ill omen is with Allah; yea, you are a people under trial.”⁸

⁴⁸There were in the city nine men of a family who made mischief in the land and would not reform.

⁴⁹They said: “Swear a mutual oath by Allah that we shall make a secret night attack on him and his people and that we shall then say to his heir: “We were not present at the slaughter of his people and we are positively telling the truth. “

⁵⁰And they plotted and planned, but We too planned even while they perceived it not.⁹

⁵¹Then see what was the end of their plot! that we destroyed them and all their people.

⁴⁷Qalut tayyama bika wa bimam maak qala tairukum indal lahi bal antum qaumun tuftanun

⁴⁸Wa kana fi madinati tisatu rahtiy yufsiduna fil ardi wa la yuslihun

⁴⁹Qalu taqasamu billahi lanubay yitan nahu wa ahlahu summa lanaqulan na liwaliy yihi ma sahidna mahlika ahlihi wa inna lasadiqun

⁵⁰Wa makaru makraw wa makarna makraw wa hum la yasurun

⁵¹Fanzur kaifa kana aqibatu makrihim anna dam marnahum wa qaumahum ajmain

8. Please refer to verse 47. The Bible says that God does not trial us, rather He will judge us on the Day of Judgment and whoever is found wanting would be thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone.

9. God does not plot against us. One who plots is one who lacks complete knowledge and outcome of things, therefore, in plotting, they look for ways to achieve their goal. God knows everything, even the hidden things of life, as such He does not plot or conspire with anyone to achieve any goal.

⁵²Now such were their houses in utter ruin because they practiced wrongdoing. Verily, in this is a sign for people of knowledge.

⁵³And We saved those who believed and practiced righteousness.

⁵⁴And We also sent Lut: behold he said to his people “Do you do what is shameful though you see its iniquity?

⁵⁵“Would you really approach men in your lusts rather than women? Nay, you are an ignorant people !”

⁵⁶But his people gave no other answer but this: they said “Drive out the followers of Lut from your city: these are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!”

⁵⁷But We saved him and his family except his wife: We destined her to be of those who lagged behind.

⁵²Fatilka buyutuhum hawiyatam bima zalamu inna fi zalika la ayatal liqaumiy yalamun

⁵³Wa anjainal lazina amanu wa kanu yattaqun

⁵⁴Wa Lutan iz qala liqaumihi atatunal fahisyata wa antum tubsirun

⁵⁵A in nakum latatunar rijala sahwatam min dunin nisa bal antum qaumun tajhalun

⁵⁶Fama kana jawaba qaumihi illa an qalu ahriju a la Lutim min qaryatikum innahum unasuy yatatah harun

⁵⁷Fa anjainahu wa ahlahu illam raatahu qad darnaha minal gabirin

⁵⁸And We rained down on them a shower of brimstone: and evil was the shower on those who were admonished but heeded not!

⁵⁹Say: Praise be to Allah and peace on His servants whom He has chosen. Who is better? Allah or the false gods they associate with Him?

⁶⁰Or who has created the heaven and the earth and who sends you down rain from the sky? Yea, with it We cause to grow well planted orchards full of beauty and delight: it is not in your power to cause the growth of the trees in them. Can there be another god besides Allah? Nay, they are a people who swerve from justice.

⁶¹Or who has made the earth firm to live in; made rivers in its midst; set thereon mountains immovable; and made a separating bar between the two bodies of flowing water? Can there be another god besides Allah? Nay, most of them know not.

⁵⁸Wa amtarna alaihim matara fasa a matarul munzarin

⁵⁹Qulil hamdu lillahi wa salamun ala ibadihil lazinas tafa allahu hairun amma yusrikun

⁶⁰Amman halaqas samawati wal arda wa anzala lakum mins samai ma fa anbatna bihi hada iqa zata bahjah makana lakum an tumbitu sajaraha a ilahum maallah bal hum qaumuy yadilun

⁶¹Amman yaalal arda qararaw wa jaala hilalaha anharaw wa jaala laha rawasiya wa jaala bainal bahraini hajiza a ilahum maal lahi bal aksaruhum la yalamun

⁶²Or who listens to the distressed when it calls on Him, and who relieves its suffering, and makes you inheritors of the earth? Can there be another god besides Allah? Little it is that you heed!

⁶³Or who guides you through the depths of darkness on land and sea and who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings going before His mercy? Can there be another god besides Allah? High is Allah above what they associate with Him!

⁶⁴Or who originates creation then repeats it, and who gives you sustenance from heaven and earth? Can there be another god besides Allah? Say “Bring forth your argument if you are telling the truth!”

⁶²Ammay yujibul mudtar ra iza daahu wa yaksifus sua wa yajalukum hulafa al ard a ilahum maal lah qalilam ma tazak karun

⁶³Ammay yahdikum fi zulumatil barri wal bahri wa may yursilur riyaha busram baina yadai rahmatih a ilahum maallah taalallahu amma yusrikun

⁶⁴Ammay yabda ul hakqa summa yuiduhu wa may yarzuqukum minas samai wal ard a ilahum maal lah qul hatu burhanakum inkuntum sadiqin

⁶⁵Say: None in the heavens or on earth except Allah knows what is hidden: nor can they perceive when they shall be raised up.

⁶⁶Still less can their knowledge comprehend the hereafter: nay, they are in doubt and uncertainty nay, they are blind thereunto!

⁶⁷And the unbelievers say: “What! when we become dust we and our fathers, shall we really be raised from the dead?

⁶⁸“It is true we were promised this, we and our fathers before us: these are nothing but tales of the ancients.”

⁶⁹Say: “Go through the earth and see what has been the end of those guilty.”

⁷⁰And grieve not over them, nor distress yourself because of their plots.

⁷¹And they also say: “When will this promise come to pass? Say, if you are truthful.”

⁶⁵Qul la yalamu man fis samawati wal ardil gaiba illallah wa ma yasuruna ayyana yubasun

⁶⁶Balid daraka ilmuhum fil ahirah bal hum fi sakkim minha bal hum minha amun

⁶⁷Wa qalal lazina kafaru a iza kuna turabawwa aba una a inna lamuhrajun

⁶⁸Laqad wuidna haza nahnu wa aba una min qablu in haza illa asatirul aw walin

⁶⁹Qul siru fil ardi fanzuru kaifa kana aqibatul mujrimin

⁷⁰Wa la tahzan alaihim wa la takun fi daiqim mimma yamkurun

⁷¹Wa yaquluna mata hazal wadu inkuntum sadiqin

⁷²Say: “It may be that some of the events which you wish to hasten on may be in your pursuit!”

⁷³And verily, your Lord is full of grace to mankind: yet most of them are ungrateful.

⁷⁴And verily, your Lord knows all that their hearts hide as well as all that they reveal.

⁷⁵And is there anything of the unseen in heaven or earth but is in a clear record.

⁷⁶Verily, this Qur’an does explain to the Children of Israel most of the matters in which they disagree.

⁷⁷And it certainly is a guide and mercy to those who believe.

⁷⁸Verily, your Lord will decide between them by His decree: and He is exalted in might, all-knowing.

⁷²Qul asa ayyakuna radifa lakum badul lazi tastajilun

⁷³Wa inna rabbaka lazu fadlin alnnasi wa lakinna aksarahum la yaskurun

⁷⁴Wa inna rabbaka layalamu ma tukin nu suduruhum wa ma yulinun

⁷⁵Wa mamin gaibatin fis samai wal ardi illa fi kitabim mubin

⁷⁶Inna hazal qurana yaqus su ala bani Israila aksaral lazi hum fihi yahtalifun

⁷⁷Wa innahu lahudaw wa rahmatul lilmuminin

⁷⁸Inna rabbaka yaqdi bainahum bihukmihi wahuwal azizul alim

⁷⁹So put your trust in Allah: for you are on the path of manifest truth.

⁸⁰Truly you cannot cause the dead to listen nor can you cause the deaf to hear the call when they turn back in retreat.

⁸¹And can you be a guide to the blind from straying; only those will you get to listen who believe in Our signs, and they will bow in Islam.

⁸²And when the word is fulfilled against them, We shall produce from the earth a beast to face them: he will speak to them, for mankind did not believe with assurance in our signs.

⁸³And one day We shall gather together from every people a troop of those who reject Our signs and they shall be kept in ranks.

⁷⁹Fatawak kalalallah innaka alal haqqil mubin

⁸⁰Innaka la tusmiul mauta wa la tusmi us summaddu a aiza wallau mudbirin

⁸¹Wa ma anta bihadil umyi an dalalatihim in tusmiu illa mayyuminu bi ayatina fahum muslimun

⁸²Wa iza waqaal qaulu alaihim ahrajna lahum dabbatam minal ardi tukal limuhum annan nasa kanu bi ayatina la yuqinun

⁸³Wa yauma masuru minkulli ummatin faujam mimmayyukaz zibu bi ayatina fahum yuzaun

⁸⁴Until when they come Allah will say: “Did you reject My signs, though you comprehended them not in knowledge or what was it you did?”

⁸⁵And the word will be fulfilled against them because of their wrongdoing and they will be unable to speak.

⁸⁶Do they not see that We have made the night for them to rest in, and the day to give them light? Verily, in this are signs for any people that believe!

⁸⁷And the day that the trumpet will be sounded, then will be smitten with terror those who are in the heavens and those who are on earth, except such as Allah will please: and all shall come to Him as beings conscious of their lowliness.

⁸⁴Hatta iza ja u qala akazzabtum bi ayati wa lam tuhitu biha ilman amma zakuntum tamalun

⁸⁵Wa waqaal qaulu alaihim bima zalamu fahum la yantiqun

⁸⁶Alam yarau anna jaalnal laila liyaskunu fihi wannahara mubisira inna fi zalika la ayatil liqaumiy yuminun

⁸⁷Wa yauma yunfaku fissuri fafazia manfis samawati wa man filardi illa man saallahu wa kulun atauhu dahirin

⁸⁸And you see the mountains and think them firmly fixed: but they shall pass away as the clouds pass away: such is the artistry of Allah who disposes of all things in perfect order: for He is well acquainted with all that you do.

⁸⁹If any do good, good will come to them therefrom; and they will be secure from terror that day.

⁹⁰. And if any do evil, their faces will be thrown headlong into the fire: “Do you receive a reward other than that which you have earned by your deeds?”

⁹¹For me I have been commanded to serve the Lord of this city, Him who has sanctified it and to whom belong all things: and I am commanded to be of those who bow in Islam.

⁹²And to rehearse the Qur’an: and if any accept guidance they do it for the good of their own souls and if any stray say: “I am only a warner.”

⁸⁸Wa taral jibala tahsabuha jamidataw wa hiya tamur ru marras sahab sunal lahil lazi atqana kul la sai innahu habirun bima tafalun

⁸⁹Man ja a bil hasanati falahu hairum minha wa hummin fazain yauma izin aminun

⁹⁰Wa man ja a bissayyi ati fakub bat wujuhuhum finnar hal tujzauna illa ma kuntum tamalun

⁹¹Innama umirtu an abuda rabba hazihil baldatil lazi harramaha wa lahu kullu sai iwwa umirtu an kuna minal muslimin

⁹²Wa an atluwal quran famanih tada fa innama yahtadil linafsih wa man dalla faqul innama ana minal munzirin

⁹³And say: “Praise be to Allah who will soon show you His signs so that you shall know them”; and your Lord is not unmindful of all that you do.

⁹³Wa qulil hamdu lillahi sayurikum ayatihi fatarifunaha wa ma rabbuka bigafilin am ma tamalun
