The Believers
(Al-Muminûn)
|
|
In the name of
Allah, Gracious, Merciful.
1The Believers must win through.1
2Those who humble themselves in their prayers.
3And who avoid vain talk.
4And who are active in deeds of charity.
5And who abstain from sex2
6Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond or whom their right
hands possess for they are free from blame3
7But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors.
8And those who faithfully observe their trust and their covenants.

1. In other words,
the believers will be successful; a sort of Psalm One in the Qur’anic terms.
2. Allah is not
against sex per se, rather the abuse of sex. It must be within the bonds of
marriage, regardless of how many wives one may have. Age also is irrelevant,
the only provision is that she is traditionally your wife. Muhammad married
a six (some say seven) year old girl and consumed the marriage when she was
nine. Aisha, daughter of Abu‑Bakr was a beautiful little girl. Muhammad
married her when he was fifty three years old and she was only six years
old. He had intercourse with her when she was nine years old. (Wives of the
Prophet, pages 57‑61, Al‑Raheeq Al‑Makhtum, page 146). This is a gross case
of child abuse by the prophet of Islam. Islam does not emphasize monogamy;
rather it commends equal affection and treatment to all (Qur’an 4:1‑4).
|
|
 |
|
3. It is perfectly acceptable in Islam for one to own slaves, be they
prisoners of war or otherwise owned, with such, one is allowed sexual
intercourse because they are one’s possessions.
|
|
9And who guard their prayers.
10Those will be the heirs.
11Who will inherit paradise: they will dwell therein forever.
12And man We did create from a quintessence of clay.
13Then We placed him as sperm in a place of rest firmly fixed.
14Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot
We made a lump; then We made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones
with flesh; then We developed out of it another creature: so blessed be
Allah the best to create!
15After that at length you will die.
16Again on the day of judgment will you be raised up.

17And We have made above you seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of
Our creation.
18And We send down water from the sky according to measure and We cause it
to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off.
19With it We grow for you gardens of date palms and vines: in them have
you abundant fruits: and of them you eat.
20And a tree springing out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish

21And in cattle you have an instructive example: from within their bodies

benefits for you; and of their meat you eat.

Allah had wished He could have sent down angels,: never did we hear such a
thing among our ancestors of old.”4

27So We inspired him: “Construct the Ark within Our sight and under Our
guidance: then when comes Our command and the fountains of the earth gush
forth take on board pairs of every species, male and female, and your
family, except those of them against whom the word has already gone forth:
and address Me not in favor of the wrongdoers; for they shall be drowned.
28And when you have embarked on the Ark, you and those with you, say:
“Praise be to Allah who has saved us from the people who do wrong.”
29And say: “O my Lord! enable me to disembark with Your blessing: for You
are the best to enable us to disembark.”
30Verily, in this there are signs for men to understand; thus do We try
men.
31Then We raised after them another generation.

44Then sent We Our apostles in succession: every time there came to a
people their apostle they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow
each other: We made them as a tale: so away with a people that will not
believe!
45Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and authority
manifest.5
46To Pharaoh and his chiefs: but these behaved insolently: they were
arrogant people.
47They said: “Shall we believe in two men like ourselves? And their people
are subject to us!”
48So they accused them of falsehood and they became of those who were
destroyed.
49And We gave Moses the book in order that they might receive guidance.6

5. The people of Nineveh delayed the punishment
of God when they repented at the preaching of Jonah 3:10:
Then the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second
time, saying, "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against
it the message that I tell you."
So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the
word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, three days'
journey in breadth. Jonah began to go into the city, going a day's journey.
And he called out, "Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!"
And the people of Nineveh believed God. They called
for a fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them to the least of
them. The word reached the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne,
removed his robe, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. And he
issued a proclamation and published through Nineveh, "By the decree of the
king and his nobles: Let neither man nor
|
|
 |
|
beast, herd nor flock, taste anything. Let them not
feed or drink water, but let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and
let them call out mightily to God. Let everyone turn from his evil way and
from the violence that is in his hands. Who knows? God may turn and relent
and turn from his fierce anger, so that we may not perish."
When God saw what they did, how they turned from their
evil way, God relented of the disaster that he had said he would do to them,
and he did not do it.
6. Moses was not given a Book, he was given two
tablets of Law containing what we have come to accept as the “Decalogue” or
“The Ten Commandments” (rough translation). He was given instruction to
write some of the things, others are about his own and others interaction
with God.
The LORD said to Moses, “Cut
for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write on the
tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.”
(Exodus 34:1)
Qur’an
23:50: And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them
both shelter on high ground affording rest and security and furnished with
springs.
Then the priest shall write these curses in a book and
wash them off into the water of bitterness. (Numbers 5:23)
And
you shall write on them all the words of this law, when you cross over to
enter the land that the LORD your God is giving you, a land flowing with
milk and honey, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you.
(Deuteronomy 27:3)
And you shall write on the stones all the words of
this law very plainly. (Deuteronomy 27:8)
"Now
therefore write this song and teach it to the people of Israel. Put it in
their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the people of
Israel. (Deuteronomy 31:19)
So
as you can see, God did not give Moses a Book, rather a number of orally
transmitted laws for the Israelites.
|
|
50And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a sign: We gave them both
shelter on high ground affording rest and security and furnished with
springs.
51O apostles! enjoy all things good and pure, and work righteousness: for
I am well acquainted with all that you do.
52And verily, this brotherhood of yours is a single brotherhood and I am
your Lord: therefore fear Me.
53But people have cut off their affair between them into sects: each party
rejoices in that which is with itself.
54But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time.
55Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and
sons.
56We would hasten them on in every good? No, they do not understand.

7. 1 Corinthians 10:13 said several centuries
before the birth of Muhammad that
No temptation has overtaken you that is unusual for
human beings. But God is faithful, and he will not allow you to be tempted
beyond your strength. Instead, along with the temptation he will also
provide a way out, so that you may be able to endure it.
Therefore
Muhammad’s statement supports what God revealed to Paul.
8. Bible believing
Christians are certain of this fact, they are not one bit confused as to the
truth of the fact that God does not give us burdens we cannot bear, although
at times it may seem so, yet, nevertheless God knows what we can and cannot
bear.

things of this world, behold they will groan in supplication!

66“My signs used to be rehearsed to you but you used to turn back on your
heels.
67“In arrogance: talking nonsense about it like one telling fables by
night.”9
68Do they not ponder over the Word or has anything come to them that did
not come to their fathers of old?
69Or do they not recognize their apostle that they deny him?
70Or do they say “He is possessed”? Nay, he has brought them the truth but

9. The Qureish
tribe are implied here, before Islam they were the custodians of the shrine
(Ka’bah) in Meccah, when Islam gained power and took it over, they used to
talk about it in the days when they were in charge of the Ka’bah. Though
Yusuf Ali says that they passed the night in talk or in the recital of
stories of romances, a favorite amusement of the Days of Ignorance. Their
conversation apparently affected the Qur’an, because the Qur’an gave
credence to all the Muslim claim and so it invariably came under attack.

10. In Islam,
salvation is based on many things including good works (102).
Sahih
Al‑Bukhari Hadith 2.330 narrated by Abdullah:
“Allah’s
Apostle said, “Anyone who dies worshiping others along with Allah will
definitely enter the Fire.” I said, “Anyone who dies worshipping none along
with Allah will definitely enter Paradise.”
Sahih Al‑Bukhari Hadith 9.519 narrated by Abu Huraira;
The Prophet said, “Whoever
believes in Allah and His Apostle, offers prayers perfectly and fasts (the
month of) Ramadan then it is incumbent upon Allah to admit him into
Paradise... .
Fiqh‑us‑Sunnah 4.16:
“...the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: “He
whose last words are ‘La ilaha illa‑Allah’ shall enter Paradise.”
Sahih
Al‑Bukhari Hadith 9.541 narrated by Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, “Paradise
and Hell (Fire) quarreled in the presence of their Lord.
|
|
 |
|
Paradise said, ‘O
Lord! What is wrong with me that only the poor and humble people enter me?’
Hell (Fire) said, ‘I have been favored with the arrogant people.’ So Allah
said to Paradise, ‘You are My Mercy,’ and said to Hell, ‘You are My
Punishment which I inflict upon whom I wish, and I shall fill both of you. (The Prophet added, “As for Paradise, (it will be filled with good people)
because Allah does not wrong any of His created things, and He creates for
Hell (Fire) whomever He will, and they will be thrown into it, and it will
say thrice, ‘Is there any more,’ till Allah (will put) His Foot over it and
it will become full and its sides will come close to each other and it will
say, ‘Qat! Qat! Qat! (Enough! Enough! Enough!)’
Verse 103 speaks of
annihilation of the unbelievers, though the Bible speaks of eternal
punishment (Matthew 25:46).

104The fire will burn their faces and they will therein grin with their
lips displaced.
105“Were not My signs rehearsed to you and you did but treat them as
falsehoods?”
106They will say: “Our Lord! our misfortune overwhelmed us and we became a
people astray!
107“Our Lord! bring us out of this: if ever we return then shall we be
wrongdoers indeed!”
108He will say: “Be driven into it! and speak not to Me!
109“A part of My servants there was who used to pray `Our Lord! we
believe; then do forgive us and have mercy upon us: for You are the best of
those who show mercy!’
110“But you treated them with ridicule so much so that they made you
forget My message while you were laughing at them!

111“I have rewarded them this day for their patience and constancy: they
are indeed the ones that have achieved bliss.”
112He will say: “What number of years did you stay on earth?”
113They will say: “We stayed a day or part of a day: but ask those who
keep account.”
114He will say: “You stayed not but a little if you had only known!
115“Did you then think that We had created you in jest and that you would
not be brought back to Us.
116Therefore exalted be Allah the king the reality; there is no god but
He, the Lord of the throne of honor!

117And if anyone invokes besides Allah any other god he has no authority
thereof; and his reckoning will be only with his Lord! And verily, the
unbelievers will fail to win through!
118So say: “O my Lord! grant forgiveness and mercy! for You art the best
of those who show mercy!” |
