The Children of
Israel (Al-Isrâ)
|
|
In the name of
Allah, Gracious, Merciful.
1Glory to Allah who took His servant for journey by night from the sacred
mosque to the farthest mosque, whose precincts We did bless in order that We
might show him some of Our signs: for He is the one who hears and sees all things.1
2We gave Moses the Book and made it a Guide to the Children of Israel
saying: “Take none other than Me as Disposer of your affairs.
3O you that are sprung from those whom We carried in the Ark with Noah!
Verily he was a devotee most grateful.

1. There are various views to the night
journey, some believe that it was a physical experience, others believe that
it was a spiritual experience. There are those who are of the opinion that
he traveled to heaven from Mecca, yet others say he went to Jerusalem (the
farthest Mosque) and from there to heaven. In any case, Sahih Al-Bukhari’s
Hadith 5.227 narrated by Abbas bin Malik reveals in part what happened
prior to and during the night journey.
Malik bin Sasaa said that Allah’s
Apostle described to them his Night Journey saying, “While I was lying in
Al-Hatim or Al-Hijr, suddenly someone came to me and cut my body open from
here to here.” I asked Al-Jarud who was by my side, “What does he mean?” He
said, “It means from his throat to his pubic area,” or said, “From the top
of the chest.”
The Prophet further said, “He then took out
my heart. Then a gold tray of Belief was brought to me and my heart was
washed and was filled (with Belief) and then returned
|
|
 |
|
to its original place. Then a white animal
which was smaller than a mule and bigger than a donkey was brought to me.”
(On this Al-Jarud asked, “Was it the Buraq, O Abu Hamza?” I (i.e. Anas)
replied in the affirmative. The Prophet said, “The animal’s step (was so
wide that it) reached the farthest point within the reach of the animal’s
sight. I was carried on it, and Gabriel set out with me till we reached the
nearest heaven.
Abbas continues with the narration that
Muhammad was conducted from the first to the seventh heaven where he met
with Adam, John, Jesus, Joseph, Aaron, Moses and Abraham.
Then I was made to
ascend to Sidrat-ul-Muntaha (i.e. the Lote Tree of the utmost boundary)
Behold! Its fruits were like the jars of Hajr (i.e. a place near Medina) and
its leaves were as big as the ears of elephants. Gabriel said, ‘This is the
Lote Tree of the utmost boundary.’ Behold! There ran four rivers; two were
hidden and two were visible. I asked, ‘What are these two kinds of rivers, O
Gabriel?’ He replied, ‘As for the hidden rivers, they are two rivers in
Paradise and the visible rivers are the Nile and the Euphrates.’ Then
Al-Bait-ul-Ma’mur (i.e. the Sacred House) was shown to me and a container
full of wine and another full of milk and a third full of honey were brought
to me. I took the milk. Gabriel remarked, ‘This is the Islamic religion
which you and your followers are following.’ Then the prayers were enjoined
on me: They were fifty prayers a day. When I returned, I passed by Moses who
asked (me), ‘What have you been ordered to do?’ I replied, ‘I have been
ordered to offer fifty prayers a day.’ Moses said, ‘Your followers cannot
bear fifty prayers a day, and by Allah, I have tested people before you, and
I have tried my level best with Bani Israel (in vain). Go back to your Lord
and ask for reduction to lessen your followers’ burden.’
So I went back, and
Allah reduced ten prayers for me. Then again I came to Moses, but he
repeated the same as he had said before. Then again I went back to Allah and
He reduced ten more prayers. When I came back to Moses he said the same, I
went back to Allah and He ordered me to observe ten prayers a day. When I
came back to Moses, he repeated the same advice, so I went back to Allah and
was ordered to observe five prayers a day. When I came back to Moses, he
said, ‘What have you been ordered?’ I replied, ‘I have been ordered to
observe five prayers a day.’ He said, ‘Your followers cannot bear five
prayers a day, and no doubt, I have got an experience of the people before
you, and I have tried my level best with Bani Israel, so go back to your
Lord and ask for reduction to lessen your follower’s burden.’ I said, ‘I
have requested so much of my Lord that I feel ashamed, but I am satisfied
now and surrender to Allah’s Order.’ When I left, I heard a voice saying, ‘I
have passed My Order and have lessened the burden of My Worshipers.”
Sahih
Al-Bukhari Hadith 9.608 narrated by Anas bin Malik:
The night Allah’s
Apostle was taken for a journey from the sacred mosque (of Mecca) Al-Ka’ba:
Three persons came to him (in a dream) while he was sleeping in the Sacred
Mosque before the Divine Inspiration was revealed to Him. One of them said,
“Which of them is he?” The middle (second) angel said, “He is the best of
them.” The last (third) angel said, “Take the best of them.” Only that much
happened on that night and he did not see them till they came on another
night, i.e. after the Divine.
Inspiration was revealed to him (Fateh-Al-Bari
Page 258, Vol. 17), and he saw them, his eyes were asleep but his heart was
not--and so is the case with the prophets: their eyes sleep while their
hearts do not sleep. So those angels did not talk to him till they carried
him and placed him beside the well of Zam-Zam. From among them Gabriel took
charge of him. Gabriel cut open (the part of his body) between his throat
and the middle of his chest (heart) and took all the material out of his
chest and abdomen and then washed it with Zam-Zam water with his own hands
till he cleansed the inside of his body, and then a gold tray containing a
gold bowl full of belief and wisdom was brought and then Gabriel stuffed his
chest and throat blood vessels with it and then closed it (the chest). He
then ascended with him to the heaven of the world and knocked on one of its
doors.
It is interesting to note
that the rivers mentioned to be in heaven are relative to the four rivers
mentioned in the book of Genesis in the Bible (2:10-14) with the exception
of the Nile river.
A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden, and
there it divided and became four rivers. The name of the first is the Pishon.
It is the one that flowed around the whole land of Havilah, where there is
gold. And the gold of that land is good; bdellium and onyx stone are there.
The name of the second river is the Gihon. It is the one that flowed around
the whole land of Cush. And the name of the third river is the Tigris, which
flows east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.
In regards to the number of
times of prayer, as enjoined on him by Allah, one needs only read Genesis
18:24-33, and one will be convinced that, that is the story which has been
misrepresented.
Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city.
Will you then sweep away the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous
who are in it? Far be it from you to do such a thing, to put the righteous
to death with the wicked, so that the righteous fare as the wicked! Far be
that from you! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do what is just?" And
the LORD said, "If I find at Sodom fifty righteous in the city, I will spare
the whole place for their sake." Abraham answered and said, "Behold, I have
undertaken to speak to the Lord, I who am but dust and ashes. Suppose five
of the fifty righteous are lacking. Will you destroy the whole city for lack
of five?" And he said, "I will not destroy it if I find forty-five there."
Again he spoke to him and said, "Suppose forty are found there." He
answered, "For the sake of forty I will not do it." Then he said, "Oh let
not the Lord be angry, and I will speak. Suppose thirty are found there." He
answered, "I will not do it, if I find thirty there." He said, "Behold, I
have undertaken to speak to the Lord. Suppose twenty are found there." He
answered, "For the sake of twenty I will not destroy it." Then he said, "Oh
let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak again but this once. Suppose ten
are found there." He answered, "For the sake of ten I will not destroy it."
And the LORD went his way, when he had finished speaking to Abraham, and
Abraham returned to his place.
The question is, Did Muhammad go to heaven?
The experience of the angelic surgery is what rendered him holy enough to
receive the things of Allah. Or such is the implication.
From the Bible it is evident that when God
calls someone, he is usually anointed by a priest or prophet as in the case
of Moses and Aaron, Samuel and David. In the absence of a priest or a
prophet, God speaks to the person directly as in the case of Moses, Jeremiah
and others (Exodus 3:1-22, Jeremiah 1:1-19). In cases of other pious people,
God would send a prophet (Isaiah 38:1-8), or an angel as in the case of
Samson’s parents (Judges 13:1-25), Zachariah and Mary and the angel (Luke
1:1-80). That is not how it happened with Muhammad. We see a confusion with
the Spirit and the Angel and we are not sure which one appeared to him. In
Numbers 12:6 we read:
And he said, "Hear my
words: If there is a prophet among you, I the LORD make myself known to him
in a vision; I speak with him in a dream.
This alone therefore would disqualify
Muhammad as a prophet.

4And We gave warning to the Children of Israel in the book, that twice
would they do mischief on the earth and be elated with mighty arrogance.2
5When the first of the warnings came to pass We sent against you Our
servants given to terrible warfare: They entered the very inmost parts of
your homes; and it was a warning fulfilled.
6Then We granted you the return as against them: We gave you increase in
resources and sons, and made you the more numerous in manpower.

2. It is a fact
beyond every reasonable doubt, that the Israelites provoked God more than
twice and they were equally punished more than twice by God. Egypt, Assyria,
Babylonia, Greece and the Roman empire are among the Nations God used to
punish the Jews. The Medo-Persians were nice to them as a people. Besides
them, they were plundered by most of the other Kingdoms.

7If you did well, you did well for yourselves; if you did evil, you did it
against yourselves; so when the second of the warnings came to pass, to
disfigure your faces and to enter your temple, as they had entered it
before, and to visit with destruction all that fell into their power.
8It may be that your Lord may show mercy unto you; but if you revert, We
shall revert, and We have made hell a prison for those who reject all faith.
9Verily, this Qur’an does guide to that which is most right and gives the
glad tidings to the believers who work deeds of righteousness, that they
shall have a magnificent reward.
10And to those who believe not in the hereafter, that We have prepared for
them a penalty grievous.

11And the prayer that man should make for good, he makes for evil: for man
is given to hasty deeds.
12And We have made the night and the day as two signs: the sign of the
night have We obscured, while the sign of the day We have made to enlighten
you; that you may seek bounty from your Lord and that you may know the
number and count of the years: all things have We explained in detail.
13And every man’s fate We have fastened on his own neck: on the day of
judgment We shall bring out for him a scroll which he will see spread open.3

account against you.”

3. The Bible mentions that God records the deeds of
men in a Book and that on the day of Judgment, those whose names are not in
that Book will be thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone. Revelation 20:11-15:
Then I saw a large,
white throne and the one who was sitting on it. The earth and the heavens
fled from his presence, and no place was found for them. I saw the dead,
both unimportant and important, standing in front of the throne, and books
were open. Another book was opened-the Book of Life. The dead were judged
according to their works, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead
that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and
all were judged according to their works. Death and Hades were thrown into
the lake of fire. (This is the second death-the lake of fire.) Anyone whose
name was not found written in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of
fire. |

15Who receives guidance receives it for his own benefit: who goes astray
does so to his own loss: no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of
another: nor would We visit with Our wrath until We had sent an apostle.4
16And when We decide to destroy a population, We send a definite order to
those among them who are given the good things of this life and yet
transgress; so that the word is proved true against them: then, We destroy
them utterly.5
17And how many generations have We destroyed after Noah? And enough is
your Lord to note and see the sins of His servants.
18If any do wish for the transitory things, We readily grant them, such
things as We will to such persons as We will: in the end have We provided
hell for them: they will burn therein disgraced and rejected.

4. The statement
is that no sinner can plead or intercede for another sinner. The Qur’an says
that Muhammad is a sinner who should ask forgiveness for his sins:
Qur’an 40:55:
“Patiently then persevere: for the Promise of Allah is true: and ask
forgiveness for thy fault and celebrate the Praises of thy Lord in the
evening and in the morning.”
Qur’an 47:19: Know there-fore that there is no god but Allah and ask
forgiveness for the fault and for the men and women who believe: for Allah
knows how ye move about and how ye dwell in your homes.
Qur’an 48:1-2;
Verily We have granted thee a manifest Victory: That Allah may forgive thee
thy faults of the past and those to follow; fulfill His favor to thee; and
guide thee on the Straight Way.
Because of these verses Muhammad is disqualified as an intercessor, on the
other hand, Jesus is sinless and can intercede for us before God and lead us
to God as well. The Qur’an calls Him a Righteous (Faultless, Holy) son of
God (Qur’an 19:19).
The Bible says that though He was tempted,
yet He sinned not.
For we do not have a
high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in
every respect has been tempted as
|
|
 |
|
we are, yet without
sin. (Hebrews 4:15)
For this reason He has been qualified as Our
Mediator before God.
There is one God.
There is also one mediator between God and human beings—a
human, Christ Jesus. (1Timothy 2:5)
However, Jesus has now
obtained a ministry that is as superior to theirs as the covenant he
mediates is founded on better promises. (Hebrews 8:6)
And for this cause he
is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the
redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they
which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
(Hebrews 9:15)
There is no doubt that Jesus can actually
lead us to God.
5. This was his
militaristic strategy, the nobles of the land, the well placed financially
and otherwise were his prime targets because of the influence they may exert
over their people. When, however, they do not accept the word of Islam, then
the wrath of the Muslims in unleashed against them. This strategy is still
being used by the Muslims who toady uses aid to the poor in other lands as a
way to woo the people for Islam.

19And those who do wish for the hereafter and strive therefor with all due
striving, and have faith, they are the ones whose striving is acceptable.
20Of the bounties of your Lord We bestow freely on all these as well as
those: the bounties of your Lord are not closed.
21See how We have bestowed more on some than on others; but verily, the
hereafter is more in rank and gradation and more in excellence.
22Take not with Allah another object of worship; or you will sit in
disgrace and destitution.

23And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him and that you be
kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in your life,
say not to them a word of contempt nor repel them but address them in terms
of honor.6
24And out of kindness lower to them the wing of humility and say: “My
Lord! bestow on them your mercy even as they cherished me in childhood.”
25Your Lord knows best what is in your hearts: if you do deeds of
righteousness, verily, He is most forgiving to those who turn to Him again
and again.
26And render to the kindred their due rights as to those in want and to
the wayfarer: but squander not your wealth in the manner of a spendthrift.
27Verily, spendthrifts are brothers of the evil ones; and the evil one is
to his Lord ungrateful.

and Mother is the first commandment with a promise according to Ephesians 6:2. One who even as they cherished me in childhood.” does not honor his
parents is worse than an infidel.

28And even if you have to turn away from them in pursuit of the mercy from
your Lord which you do expect, yet speak to them a word of easy kindness.
29And make not your hand tied to your neck, nor stretch it forth to its
utmost reach so that you become blameworthy and destitute.
30Verily, your Lord provides sustenance in abundance for whom He pleases
and He provides in a just measure: for He does know and regard all His
servants.
31And kill not your children for fear of want: We shall provide sustenance
for them as well as for you: verily, the killing of them is a great sin.7
32And come not nigh to adultery: for it is shameful and an evil opening to
the road to other evils.8

7. This is an
admonition not to kill the girl child as was the manner of some in those
days.
8. What is
adultery? In Christianity and Judaism, adultery is having sex with another
woman or man besides your one legitimate wife or husband, while you are
still married to the first wife or husband or that he or she is still alive.
In Islam however, adultery is having sex with one that you have no marriage
contract with.
There is decreed for the Muslim Temporary Marriages,
which were permissible for the Muslim man in the army who is away from his
wife to any woman who so agrees to the proposition. In today's terms however,
the provision applies to the businessman or one who travels away from his
wife for a period of time and not wishing to frequent the ‘Red Light
district” or abstain from sex altogether. Although, later scholars want to
say that it is now canceled, abrogated, some still practice it because it
used to be part of Islamic doctrine.
According to Al Bukhari’s Hadith 8.609 narrated by Ibn Abbas, as told by Abu Hurraira:
“Allah has written for the son of Adam his
inevitable share of adultery whether he is aware of it or not: The adultery
of the eye is the looking (at something which is sinful to look at), and the
adultery of the tongue is to utter (what it
|
|
 |
|
is unlawful to utter), and the inner self wishes and longs for (adultery)
and the private parts turn that into reality or refrain from submitting to
the temptation.”
Now if Allah has prescribed an inevitable
number adultery to be committed by man, how can it be sinful? Another of Bukhari’s (2.329) transmission narrated by Abu Dhar makes the matter even
more acceptable in that persons who commit adultery and die without
repentance but still believing in Allah will enter paradise:
“...if any of
my followers dies worshipping none (in any way) along with Allah, he will
enter Paradise.” I asked, “Even if he committed illegal sexual intercourse
(adultery) and theft?” He replied, “Even if he committed illegal sexual
intercourse (adultery) and theft.”

33And not take life which Allah has made sacred except for just cause. And
if anyone is slain wrongfully, We have given his heir authority, but let him
not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life, for he is helped.
34And come not nigh to the orphan’s property except to improve it until he
attains the age of full strength; and fulfil every engagement, for every
engagement will be enquired into on the day of reckoning).
35And give full measure when you measure and weigh with a balance that is
straight: that is the most fitting and the most advantageous in the final
determination.
36And pursue not that of which you have no knowledge; for every act of
hearing or of seeing or of feeling in the heart will be enquired into.

39These are among the wisdom which your Lord has revealed to you. Take not
with Allah another object of worship lest you should be thrown into hell,
blameworthy and rejected.
40Has your Lord preferred for you sons and taken for Himself daughters
among the angels? Truly you utter a most dreadful saying.
41And We have explained in various ways in this Qur’an in order that they
may receive admonition, but it only increases their flight.

9. The Bible says
that God wants all mankind to come to the saving knowledge of Christ. It is
a fact that there is one who fights against God’s will so vehemently, and
that one is the devil, to say that Allah has put a covering over their
hearts and deafness in their ears is to say that Allah does not want them to
be saved which is contrary to the will of God concerning man. 2 Peter 3:9
records that “The Lord is not slow about his promise,
as some people understand slowness, but is being patient with you. He does
not want anyone to perish, but wants everyone to come to repentance.” This is the God of
the Bible who so loved the world of sinners that He gave His only Son to be
the propitiation for our sin (John 3:16).
10. The question of
the resurrection has been adequately addressed by the Apostle Paul in l
Corinthians 15:35-38;
But someone will ask,
"How are the dead raised? What kind of body will they have when they come
back?" You fool! The seed you plant does not come to life unless it dies,
and what you plant is not the form that it will be, but a bare kernel,
whether it is wheat or something else. But God gives the plant the form he
wants it to have, and to each kind of seed its own form. |
|
 |
|
In answering the question Paul applies his knowledge gardening
to the fore, when a seed is planted, it must first die and then sprout, he
argued. In a similar vain in the resurrection, the decayed and corrupted
bodies will assume new bodies for the occasion. Nothing is too hard for God,
He created this entire world by His word, called things that were not into
being, created man from the dust of the earth, certainly He can raise the
dead back to live again.

51“Or created matter which in your minds is hardest.” Then will they say:
“Who will cause us to return?” Say: “He who created you first!” Then will
they wag their heads towards
you and say “When will that be?” Say “Maybe it will be quite soon!
52“It will be on a day when He will call you and you will answer with His
praise and you will think that you tarried but a little while.”
53Say to My servants that they should say those things that are best: for
Satan sows dissensions among them: for Satan is to man an avowed enemy.11
54It is your Lord that knows you best: if He please He grants you mercy,
or if He pleases punishment: We have not sent you to be a disposer of their
affairs for them.

looking for someone to devour.

55And it is your Lord that knows best all beings that are in the heavens

We gave to David the Psalms.
56Say: “Call on those besides Him whom you fancy: they have neither the
power to remove your troubles from you nor to change them.”
57Those whom they call upon do desire means of access to their Lord, even
those who are nearest: they hope for His mercy and fear His wrath: for the
wrath of your Lord is something to take heed of.

58And there is not a population but We shall destroy it before the day of
judgment or punish it with a dreadful penalty: that is written in the
record.12
59And We refrain from sending the signs only because the men of former
generations treated them as false: We sent the she camel to the Thamud to
open their eyes, but they treated her wrongfully: We only send the signs by
way of terror.
60And behold! We told you that your Lord encompass mankind round about: We
granted the vision which We showed you but as a trial for men as also the
cursed tree in the Qur’an: We put terror into them but it only increases
their inordinate transgression!13
61And behold! We said to the angels: “Bow down unto Adam”: they bowed down
except Iblis: he said “Shall I bow down to one whom You created from clay?”

12. The Day of
Judgment will be the Day of Punishment. It was the same way with the people
of Noah and the people of Lot as the following Scripture reveals from Luke
:17:26-29:
Just as it was in the
days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man. People were
eating, drinking, marrying, and being given in marriage right up to the day
when Noah went into the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed all of them.
So it was in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and
selling, planting and building. But on the day when Lot left Sodom, fire and
sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed all of them.
This stands in contradiction to what the
Qur’an has claimed to be in the eternal record.

62He said “Do you see? This is the one whom you have honored above me! If
You will but respite me to the day of judgment I will surely bring his
descendants under my sway all but a few!”
63Allah said: “Go your way; if any of them follow you, verily, hell will
be your recompense, an ample recompense.
64“And lead to destruction those whom you can among them with your voice;
make assaults on them with your cavalry and your infantry; mutually share
with them wealth and children; and make promises to them. But Satan promises
them nothing but deceit.
65“As for My servants no authority shall you have over them.” Enough is
your Lord for a disposer of affairs.

16. What Truth? Is
it the “fact” about creation which the Qur’an is not so certain (was it 6 or 8
days?) Or the Mother of Jesus whom the Qur’an is not so sure either? Or
maybe it is the identity of Allah who the Qur’an in chapter
1:6-7 portrays
as one lost and asking for direction and mercy from another God? It is
important that we know what the truth is. Yusuf Ali says “From its nature
falsehood must perish, for it is the opposite of Truth, and Truth must ever
prevail” How true, because the real truth in the presence of any other
“truth” must prevail.

any miracles, although Muslims claim a whole lot of miracles purported to
have been performed by him. His statement as always was, he is not a miracle
worker. The Qur’an has not a single reference to his performing a miracle.

numerous miracles, from miraculous feeding to raising the dead, restoring
blind eyes and cleansing the lepers (Qur’an 3:49).

21. This claim is as ridiculous as
they come.
The Jews did not embrace the Qur’an, hence they were branded as the enemies
of Allah and massacred in large numbers by Muhammad and his men.
According
to Maududi’s Sura Introductions, on Surah 33, (Al-Ahzab) the Battle of the
Trench was against the Jewish Clans and in particular the Bani Quraizah, who
were raided in A.H. 5. Once again, Sahih Al-Bukhari’s Hadith 5.448 narrated
by Aisha sheds light on the subject:
“So Allah’s Apostle went to them (i.e. Banu Quraiza) (i.e. besieged them). They then surrendered to the Prophet’s
judgment but he directed them to Sad to give his verdict concerning them.
Sad said, “I give my judgment that their warriors should be killed, their
women and children should be taken as captives, and their properties
distributed.”
One has to understand that the Jews did not have much of a
choice in the matter seeing they had been raided by the Muslims. Another of Bukhari’s Hadith 4.208 narrated by Anas also reveals that the Ansar tribe
were among Muhammad’s chief executioners because they made a pledge to
Muhammad, Islam and Jihad:
“We are those who have sworn allegiance to
Muhammad for Jihad (forever) as long as we
|
|
 |
|
live.” The Prophet replied to
them, “O Allah! There is no life except the life of the Hereafter. So honor
the Ansar and emigrants with Your generosity.”
A further indication that the
Jewish clans did not embrace Islam is Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 5.362 narrated
by Ibn Umar that:
Bani An-Nadir and Bani Quraiza fought (against the
Prophet violating their peace treaty), so the Prophet exiled Bani An-Nadir
and allowed Bani Quraiza to remain at their places (in Medina) taking
nothing from them till they fought against the Prophet again. He then
killed their men and distributed their women, children and property among
the Muslims, but some of them came to the Prophet and he granted them
safety, and they embraced Islam. He exiled all the Jews from Medina. They
were the Jews of Bani Qainuqa’, the tribe of ‘Abdullah bin Salam and the
Jews of Bani Haritha and all the other Jews of Medina.
The reason for the
raid/invasion was because the Jews were an economic giant among the Arabs,
owing lots of properties. Arab historians claim that they acquired their
riches by both fair and foul means, the history of their emigration was even
doubted as being in the area before the Arabs joined them.
All these were
ploys to get the Jews, just as Hitler did to them in Germany. Muhammad was
at a disadvantage economically, he was dependent on others for his
sustenance according to Bukhari’s Hadith 4.357 which was narrated by Anas
bin Malik:
“People used to give some of their date palms to the Prophet (as
a gift), till he conquered Bani Quraiza and Bani An-Nadir, whereupon he
started returning their favors.”
This change of affairs encouraged him to
continue raiding non-Muslim clans in the area.
